An interesting Sunday afternoon twitter chat…

It doesn’t surprise me that so many Doctors avoid social media communities. I think this twitter chat I had this afternoon highlights some of the challenges when trying to communicate over 160 characters:

Obviously if this was a “real” patient (ie and not Lysa Morrison, a British care industry professional that I know of, who wanted more info) it would have been difficult to have such a dialogue without potentially breaching their privacy (I’d have just tweeted back a “For more info on using 3GDoctor.com please visit or use the FAQ or Contact Us page or our website”.

Asides from the uncertain security of communications sent over Twitter this is another privacy concern that prevents us from following other tweeps with the 3G Doctor Twitter account.
