IVT Corporation opens up it’s mHealthService to work on conventional Smartphones

A slightly oddly worded Press Release from IVT Corporation announcing their presence at the ATA and INDO MEDICA events reveals that they’ve cast aside their closed system (running exclusively on the propreitory S120 Mobile from IVT – reviewed previously here on my blog) and moved towards a software solution that enables it to work with a wide range of bluetooth mobiles running Windows Mobile and Android Operating Systems. The system now includes a wireless blood pressure monitor, ECG monitor, pulse oximeter and glucose meter.

The system has also been updated to offer patients the ability to have their “test results” “automatically forwarded to a third party via short messages, allowing a user’s relatives to easily monitor their loved one’s medical condition” …a feature that I’m pretty sure will keep the regulators from getting any sleep!
