Bloomberg’s Shannon Pettypiece covers the looming FDA regulation of the mHealth app market. Whilst the source of the numbers being bandied about are uncertain Bloomberg is reporting that the mHealth apps downloaded in 2010 were worth $600 million – which is very interesting as it highlights how the mHealth industry is once again out pacing even the predictions of telecom analysts eg. Research2Guidance have just published a ‘mHealth market’ report that misleadingly claims “Money won’t be made through app stores”.
The timing for this high profile media scrutiny couldn’t be better. For a “Discussion with the FDA” join us on the 28th April in Washington DC for the West Wireless Health Institutes Healthcare Innovation Day. The event is free to attend but places are limited so register today for your seat.
