mHealth pioneer receives Order of the British Empire

Professor James McLaughlin, Professor of Advanced Functional Materials, University of Ulster and founder of Intelesens has been awarded an OBE in the New Year honours list for his services to research and economic development in Northern Ireland.

I remember first seeing the technologies being developed by Intelesens (formerly Sensor Technology and Devices) more than 7 years ago and remembering how I was left completely convinced that we would see medical technology convergence to the mobile phone in the next decade. A very well deserved honour for a great entrepreneur.
