A trademark application and the circulation of some realistic looking product images suggest that Swedish EasyPhone brand Doro is all set to launch their first Android powered smartphones and tablets at Mobile World Congress exhibition presence (where they’re exhibiting – in Hall 2G01 – and presenting during the mHealth conference session).
The mobiles are thought to be of the slider style (eg. like a Nokia N95) and the tablet is thought to be about the size of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7in (which I think is the perfect size for applications for patients and seniors).
I personally find the tablets name, “EasyTab”, is going to communicate the value proposition very effectively and the clean and straightforward UX looks very promising too.
In my opinion this much deeper customisation of the device interface compares very favorably to the in-App approach taken by GreatCall with the Apple iPhone. I can’t wait to see how patients take to it!
The Motorola Defy is a new Android smartphone which offers all the bells and whistles you would expect from such as device, but with the added bonus of being both dustproof and waterproof. This makes it the ideal smartphone for people who work outdoors or live an active lifestyle, but don’t want to sacrifice features to have a durable phone.
