It’s fair to say I’m a big fan of the Mobile Monday (MoMo) community. Not only did I announce our plans to launch 3G Doctor with a demo at Mobile Monday London back in June 2006 but I’ve also already presented at chapter events in Amsterdam and Belfast and make every attempt to attend these informal meet ups whenever/wherever possible for the quality presentations and industry networking.
Of course I’m a bit of an anorak on mHealth events but the growing interest from the Mobile Monday Chapters is making for quite an accurate barometer of the growing interest in mHealth from within the mobile industry. Here’s how it’s progressed so far…
Amsterdam, Jan 2010
Amsterdam was first with a dedicated mHealth focus and they did the best job of it to date posting well edited videos of all the speakers. Click here for my review, click here to watch the videos of the event.
Kampala (Malaysia), May 2010
“M Health for Mother and Child” was hosted at the HQ of UNICEF Uganda.
Belfast, June 2010
This overview of the mHealth opportunity ook place during the Continua Health Alliance’s European Connected Health Week.
Dusseldorf, November 2010
London, November 2010
‘Trends in mHealth, the next big thing or not?’ was sponsored by the Digital Communications Knowledge Transfer Network.
Philadelphia, March 2011
“How Mobile Devices and Services are Changing the Healthcare Landscape – A Guide for Entrepreneurs and Healthcare Providers” was hosted by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
Michigan, April 2011
‘Mobile in Healthcare’ was hosted by Compuware.
Next up… Athens
So far the date is confirmed (Wednesday 25th April 2012) but the rest of the details are only sketchy. I’ve been invited to speak and there’s news that there will be a mHealth developer competition.
UPDATE 24 March: Mobile Monday Dar es Salaam have announced they will be hosting “Where are we now with mHealth in Tanzania?” on 2 April 2012. To register click here.
