Washington Post “Mobile: The health-care fix we’ve been waiting for?”

The latest “Issues in Technology Innovation” from the Brookings Institution features a report titled “How Mobile Devices are Transforming Healthcare” produced by Vice President Darrell West and launched yesterday.

The report is an interesting round up of mHealth research and efforts around the world that’s well worth a read but I personally found it lacking structure (eg. “monitoring outbreaks of Dengue Fever” is filed under “Managing Chronic Diseases”) and its use of dated research to set the scene could be misleading (eg. citing a 2009 paper claiming “Now this technology is poised to alter how health care is delivered”) as quite obviously a lot of water’s already passed under this bridge.
