Dr Patrick Soon-Shiong’s latest Nantworks acquisition set to encourage more mHealth investments

MobiHealthNews reports on some more very positive news for the team and investors at Boston Life Labs. Although the numbers aren’t revealed this follows closely on the heels of the acquisition of a much smaller rival mHealth hub firm Birdy Technology (by EasyPhone manufacturer Doro) for nearly $2 million so this should be yet another very positive exit for early stage mHealth companies that are looking to convince investors of their ability to attract buyers.

Click here to follow Nantworks founder Dr Patrick Soon-Shiong on Twitter and click here to watch a great video interview from 2009 in which he describes the fundamental importance of the Mobile Phone in the future delivery of Health to CNBC.

Here’s a more recent video explaining in more detail his vision for ICT technologies to advance healthcare (delivered via video conference to a keynote stage at the 2011 CTIA Conference):

If you’re looking to find investment opportunities in this sector I’d encourage you to check out the 5 firms that will be presenting at the Health Startup Europe in Antwerp on the 28 March or the Merck sponsored Healthcare technology investors and CEO reception taking place in London on the 3 April (for more details/an invitation comment below).
