Just after watching this video trailer announcing Text4Baby’s move into Russia and I’m left with the feeling that it lacks authenticity and might be a little out of touch with the real world:
I’ve mentioned before how odd I think it is to be promoting free Text info services to mothers who already have $1000 Apple iPhone 4’s but in the new video we get to see much greater suggested affluence eg. this young mother has her own electronic baby scales, Apple iPad, Apple iPhone 4, drives a $100k luxury German coupe and can afford a home visit from a Doctor (another missed opportunity for 3G Doctor!).
I’m thinking that maybe the creators are a bit out of touch with the affluence and standard of living for the average young mother in Russia where annual salaries average less than $8000 (which would of course make it possible to afford a full time nanny for less than the depreciation on the car).
